Edison Loose Pearls

Edison loose pearls are produced by the freshwater mussels. They are maily cultivated in freshwaters like lakes, ponds and rivers.

Same as the cultured saltwater pearls, a piece of round shell bead will be inserted into the mussels to get a cultured edison pearl. There is only 1 piece of edison pearl inside of the pearl oyester, while the freshwater pearls quantity can reach 10-30pcs.

Freshwater pearls are mainly refer to the none-nucleated pearls, which are cultred in freshwaters. Different with the Edison pearls, freshwater pearls are with mantle tissue inserted while edison pearls are with bead implanted.
